Well if you’re looking to get a little bit competitive during the week and of course have some kick ass local beers while you’re at it, look no further. The following events will quench your competitive and beer thirst throughout the week.

 

Rock em Sock em Robots Tournament – Friday, September 21
At Fury Brewing – Registration Required

We hope you’ve been doing your thumb exercises cause you’re going to need them for this throwback event brought to you by Fury Brewing. Rock em Sock em Robots Tournament will be bracket style with each round consisting of best of 5 “fights”. The championship round will consist of best of 7 “fights”. Each Robot fight will be judged by a referee to keep the matches fair. A $15 entry gets you entered in the tournament, pizza courtesy of Inferno Pizza (we love Inferno!) and your first pint of Fury beer! Rumor has it there may be a firken happening too! Trike and Chug – Adult Tricycle Race – Saturday, September 22
At Olde Spitfire Grille with Rivertowne Brewing | Benefits the Rotary of Westmoreland and Variety the Children’s Charity | Registration Required

This event is one of our most unique ones that we have this year and we cannot wait to see it go down! Relive your childhood on 3 wheels and compete to be the Adult Trike Champ! There are 3 categories to choose from, Run What You Brung, where you bring your own trike! Make sure to decorate that beast, because there’s a Best of Show trike award! Grab 3 of your most athletic, or craziest, friends to enter the Team Chug Relay, where each team member must chug a Rivertowne beer and swap helmet, knee pads, elbow pads before each lap. Best costumes rewarded for this one and we hear there’s a couple bike shop teams registered, so we’re expecting to see a lot of spandex! Lastly is the Monster Trike Pulls where you’ll pull weighted sled pulls with the finals determined by the 2 fastest pulls. Finals will be a distance challenge with progressive weight event. Greensburg Scavenger Race – Saturday, September 22
At 60 Minute Missions with Sobel’s Obscure Brewing | Registration Required

The Greensburg Scavenger Race is a scavenger hunt and race in one! Jam packed of city exploration, mental & physical challenges and plenty of clue solving you’ll sure to have a blast during this event. Stops along the race have samples from Sobel’s Obscure Brewing and the race ends with a little after party with prizes and plenty of brews! Grab some friends and get ready to test your mental and physical skills! More info here.

QBC Tap Takeover with Game Day – Sunday, September 23
At Little E’s Pizzeria

Whose doesn’t love a little beer olympics and yard games? Grab your best teammate and head on over to Little E’s Pizzeria for corn hole, beer pong and washer toss! Prizes to be given to the overall winners of each game so make sure to pick the teammate that will help you win! It’s also a Quinn Brewing Company tap takeover so snag a pint, some kick ass pizza and have a little fun day Sunday! More info here.

 

Trivia Night – Wednesday, September 26
At Yellow Bridge Brewing Company

Not all competition has to by physical! Test your knowledge at Yellow Bridge Brewing for a Trivia Night! Grab a couple of your smartest friends and choose a sweet team name to answer questions on different topics, along with a beer round! Cornhole Tournament – Thursday, September 27
At DeGennaro’s Restaurant with Laurel Highlands Meadery | Registration Required

Everyone’s favorite summer activity corn hole has it’s own event this year during GBGCBW! Pick your partner wisely and start practicing for the Cornhole Tournament at DeGennaro’s Restaurant! Teams will compete tournament style and winners will take the board plus delicious Mead, DeGannaro’s gift certificates and some sweet GBGCBW Swag! Laurel Highlands Meadery will be there pouring their multiple flavors of mead, btw did you know they’re opening a second location right next door to DeGennaro’s in Greensburg? More info here.
